Crafts by Alison started in 2007 when I discovered the art of making my own bespoke greeting cards.   I started selling to colleagues at work and to friends and family.  In 2010 I had to leave my employment due to ill health and was really bored being home all day, so went online to discover what courses were being offered locally to me, I found a soap making course using the cold process method which is the way our grannies used to make it, and decided I would like to try this, found it easier to make than I thought and so my beautiful natural handmade soap making took off,  covering table top sales and local craft markets.    

 

I then decided I would like to try my hand at candle making and so booked myself in for another course and learnt that candle making is much easier than most people think, nothing nicer than stirring wax as it melts and then adding a beautiful fragrance, found I did not like the idea of the dip and wax candle but loved making pillar and container candles and so my small little business began.   All my candles are made from a Soya Wax rather than paraffin which gives a much better texture and also a better burn.

 

It was only after friends and family were after me to get a website that I even thought of it but better late than never I have finally taken the plunge, and although still under contstruction I am taking orders. 

 

I take orders for bespoke greeting cards that suit a person from simply putting their names on a card to building a card around that persons hobby and interests.
